A pedestrian hit last night in the 3900 block of Highway 153 has been identified as 53-year-old Charles N. Linder. Linder was struck by a southbound vehicle as he attempted to cross the highway in the dead of night.
A witness to the incident said he saw something appear near the far right lane of the highway and thought that it was an animal until he got up close. A second vehicle in the middle lane narrowly avoided hitting Linder as he continued across the highway. He was struck in the far left lane after he stepped out from behind the second vehicle. Linder was wearing dark clothes at the time of the incident and was hard to see.
Linder suffered numerous serious internal injuries as a result of the incident and was taken to Erlanger in critical condition. His current condition is unknown. There will be no charges against the driver of the vehicle that struck Linder.
