Investigators with the Chattanooga Police Department are looking into a domestic stabbing that happened last night at 2802 Dodson Avenue .
According to officers on the scene, Martin Sims, brother-in-law to Jeff Dunton, stabbed Dunton repeatedly following an argument over a theft that occurred at the residence. Officers were outside the residence finishing the theft report when the altercation broke out.
Dunton suffered life threatening injuries during the assault and was taken to Erlanger Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery for stab wounds to the kidney area, shoulder, arms and neck. Dunton’s current condition is serious.
Sims was immediately taken into custody and has been charged with attempted first degree murder and aggravated assault. He is currently at the Hamilton County Jail.

The "theft" was a ham, if this is the same story I heard on TV.
