Does hot sauce ever go bad? I've lived here 6 years, and I still have some that I brought with me.

I used some 8 year old Mace once and it seemed to not affect me in the least.
I think you're good.

I've got a big bottle of Texas Pete that I use to refill my bottle in the fridge with. It's about 4 years old, and a couple of weeks ago I refilled and noticed that it wasn't as red as it used to be, and not quite as hot.
I use a lot of Texas Pete, but I hadn't even gotten to the halfway point of that big ass Sam's Club bottle. I'll stick to the smaller bottles from now on.

Eventually the vinegar base will flatten out and give it less of a flavor and kill the heat.
Never had this problem thought because my bottles of Franks Red Hot dont normally last very long at my house

I've had some unrefrigerated and refrigerated both go bad. Takes a while, but it happens.

Yup, just like those ground spices you have had on the shelf for many years now. They won't hurt you, but they won't taste like anything either.

I have canned pepper sause that we made... and had it in the pantry fro a couple years.. but like everything else once opened I tend to put it in the fridge.. and you cant use much of that stuff at a time.. so it lasts a long while!
