In a story printed in the New York Times last June, there was an account of Obama supporters adopting his middle name as their own. The tactic was an answer to the evident intent of conservative commentators and bloggers to use "Hussein" to imply anti-American connections for the then candidate Obama. From the story: Mr. Obama is a Christian, not a Muslim. Hussein is a family name inherited from a Kenyan father he barely knew, who was born a Muslim and died an atheist. But the name has become a political liability. Some critics on cable television talk shows dwell on it, while others, on blogs or in e-mail messages, use it to falsely assert that Mr. Obama is a Muslim or, more fantastically, a terrorist. I realize that emphasizing "Hussein" in his name is a tactic to incrementally tarnish his reputation, by whatever means, for those who despise his policies. I do wish if folks on this forum want to use such a tactic, they at least would spell the name right. Makes a better impression. It is "Hussein," not "Hussien." There are and have been a lot of Husseins in the world, many of them quite respectable, including the late King of Jordan; there are also bad guys like Sadam, which presumably led to the pejorative usage on the right. And why reduce "Barack" to an initial? In Numbers 4:9 the story of the defeat of Sisera, a general of the Israelites' enemy Jabin, is accomplished by their own general, Barak. With a little help from Jael and a tent peg. Pardon the interruption. Carry on.

Why not just call him by his name Barry Soetero? I encourage you and all Republicans to do so for the next several years. Please.

"Mr. President is more respectful."
George W. Bush appreciates the sentiment.

"George W. Bush appreciates the sentiment. "
The only thing George W. Bush appreciated was being able to play President for eight years while Dick(less) Cheney and Karl (the damned) Rove ran the country. That and making his and Cheney's buddies in the oil bidness and Halliburton richer than somebody really rich.
If there truly is a just God Mr. (former) President Bush (43) better hope he lives forever.

That's weird...when I met him before the election in 2000, he looked like the President even before he was. Then when I met him in 2007 he looked even MORE like the President!
I bet I meet this one before you do, too!

Clinton should be impeached for giving Halliburton all those contracts!
No one should ever make any money!
