Help?

Post by Warkitty on Mar 10, 2009 11:26:18 GMT -5
I'm in rather desperate need of one or two people with strong backs and arms and a willingness to put them to use.
I have 7-8 pieces of furniture I can't move alone. I need to get them into my basement for storage. No truck needed, they're not leaving the house, but they're bigger than one woman can handle alone. I might be able to manage the two recliners, but the rest? Not so much.
If anyone's willing, I'll go get you some of your beer of choice, call you sexy, heck I'd even buy a pizza for you to eat.
Daytime is best, by evening I'm worn out from all the cleaning and packing (and besides that my coach has me booked with workouts tonight and tomorrow night), or I can wait till Friday. Just, help?

I could help out with some lighter stuff during the day, and I don't do beer. (no beer - it's a pregnancy thing)
PM me details too as I think I remember how to get to your place, and times, etc...

I'd volunteer my male half, but he's up to his eyebrows working. (oh the joy of owning your own businesses, working 24/7)

Call me around 10:00 if you haven't found help and I'll call in some favors and should be able to bring a couple of guys over for lunch.

Let's see how far I can get with one. I'll arrange another time, depending on what's left. If it's doable with the dolly tnponder left for me to use and rope, I'll do as much as I can with that. I just can't possibly move the china cabinet or entertainment center.

Wow. They took everything I'd gotten to the road. I watched 'em go through for treasure and keep a couple things, little knick-nacks and such, but a lot anyway. Now I maybe just have a truckfull instead of 2:-D

Ok, Limited Recourse and tnponder helped get the two most difficult pieces moved as well as two easier pieces. Since everyone else is working days, I'll take 1-3 volunteers to help with the rest of it. Not too much left, a cherry chest, a cedar wardrobe, a dresser and a queen size bed. Should be quick work and I think Friday evening would work for me as well.
Just let me know what to have in teh fridge for you.

Will things be packed up and cleared out enough for me to bring my cleaning crew over around 10:30 or 11 am tomorrow? Baseboards, windows, floors, sinks, counters; if they are cleared they will get cleaned.

BIG shout-out thank you to Gridbug, Julia and Kordax. Y'all made very short work of the furniture moving.
tnponder and limited recourse know already how grateful I am for all their help this week.

Glad to have been there. And thanks for the cross-stitch stuff. The boy is wanting a dragon quilt to replace the one the Thorneling inherited from him. This will do very nicely.
