A patrol unit was hit by a DUI driver in North Chattanooga yesterday. Officer Casey Cleveland stated that he was patrolling in the 600 block of Spears Avenue around 4:30 PM when he observed a fast approaching vehicle run a stop sign. As the vehicle sped by, it clipped the side of Cleveland ’s patrol car and damaged the side view mirror. The driver of the vehicle jumped out and ran after a short vehicle pursuit.
32-year-old Samuel Anderson was quickly apprehended when officers responding to the scene closed off the area and located him a short distance from his abandoned vehicle. Anderson was arrested for DUI; leaving the scene of an accident; evading arrest; resisting stop, frisk, halt; open container law and stop sign violation.
Officer Cleveland was not injured in the incident.

Weird.
No turn-signal violations.

Lighten up, LS. The cop was probably too busy with Mr. Microphone to try to deal with the signal lever.
Oh. Now I get it.

Oh, so it's o.k for a cop to be driving around without a side view mirror?
