The Chattanooga Police Department has received several calls concerning a shooting incident that was said to have occurred at the Hamilton Place Walmart today. The hoax is one that has been reported in several states but has not proved to be valid.
As best as can be determined, the text warning was sent out yesterday advising recipients to stay away from Walmart because a gang initiation would take place whereby people would be shot and killed.
Again, this is not a situation that has occurred in Chattanooga and there have been no reported incidents at any of the Chattanooga area Walmarts.

Good thing I had texting disabled on my phone. I would have worried about that for 30 seconds or more.
