A traffic accident at Highway 153 and Berean Lane has resulted in a fatality. Chattanooga police officers responding to the scene found the front seat passenger unresponsive and EMS pronounced the victim deceased shortly there after.
According to witnesses, a Buick travelling northbound on Hwy 153 attempted to turn onto Berean Lane . Traffic in the fast lane going southbound stopped to allow the Buick to turn. A Volvo travelling southbound in the middle lane didn’t see the turning vehicle and hit it on the passenger side killing the front seat passenger.
The remaining four passengers of the Buick, including two children, were transported to Erlanger for injuries sustained in the accident. Their current condition isn’t known but their injuries aren’t believed to be life threatening. The driver of the Volvo was not injured.
No other information is available right now however updates will be sent as soon as the investigator’s report is received.
