BERLIN (AFP) - A German woman judge has refused a Moroccan-born woman permission to file for divorce by interpreting the Koran as allowing husbands to beat their wives. "Where are we living? Woman judge allows beating in marriage... and invokes the Koran," said a front-page headline in Germany's top-selling Bild newspaper, reflecting the widespread angry reaction on Thursday. "This Moroccan woman has the same right to protection from a violent husband as any German woman. Anything else would be misconceived sensitivity to the benefit of the husband and would amount to racist discrimination against the wife," said the Tageszeitung daily. The Central Council of Muslims in Germany also condemned the decision. complete story

I'm going to choose to interpret this one isolated incident as the norm. It really pisses me off!!! When will the world wake up and realize that we don't need any other religion but Christianity, and we don't need any other nation but the US of A.
It's our duty as American Christians to have as many babies as we can so that we can eventually take over the world and end hunger, crime, war and hate.

To the contrary, it's our duty to recognize & tolerate cultural diversity anywhere & everywhere it exists -- why in the hell do you think America has embraced mandatory diversity training throughout our skools & workplaces if that's not the case? It's the height of arrogance to believe that one culture could possibly be better than any other culture -- we're all equal & by god, we all have to be tolerant of that equality or face the prospect of cultural rehab sessions or even re-education camps for the hardcore haters out there....

Pfft... yeah, what a bunch of fags and morons. Mandatory abortions for them! LOL! Just kidding. Every life is special, even if they're non-Christian cigarette moron babies. They deserve to live... so that I can kick their asses when they grow up!!!
I don't need no faggy cultural tolerance training. We didn't have that back in the good old days, and look how perfect everything was. You telling me George Washington needed cultural tolerance training?
USA! USA!

Another ignorant redneck venting their spleen because it's their "right". Do you actually know anything about other cultures, or are you just like every other Fundamentalist idiot who thinks that their version is the only version and fuck all the rest?? For your edification, there are many people on this board who do not claim Christianity as their religion. And for the vast majority of those that do, they don't seem to have a major problem with us that aren't. But then, they tend to actually be educated and give answers that have required thought before and during posting. Of course, they're still in training, but I have a feeling that they'll come around to our way of thinking eventually.

Not a proselytizer here, but I have every hope for your immortal soul (and others as well) as you continue to refine & interpret the meaning of everything you experience in life ….

I honestly think that Bushcheney08 is playing a part. Regardless I wouldn't get too worked up about this persons postings.

If the Koran does, in fact, condone men beating women (and I have no idea if it does), and if the woman is Muslim (I assume she is), then she should shut the fuck up and take her beatings with a smile.
If she's dumb enough to believe in a magic book inspired by a magic invisible being, then she should follow every rule of it; not just the nice rules.
I can't stand it when people claim that some book was divinely inspired, and is perfect and inerrant and literally true, and yet the people then pick and choose which bits to follow.
For example, a lot of Christians whine about how children and teenagers today are behaving so horribly, and how the kids need good old Biblical morality and values and the Ten Commandments in every classroom and prayer in schools and blah blah blah.
Yet no Christians have the guts to actually enforce the Bible's rule concerning disobedient children.

If you ever hit me you better hope it's enough to knock me out because if I get up you will be in trouble.

In theory, I agree with you, but if a Muslim tries to leave the faith, others will kill him.
