I saw on TV that John McCain was in Iraq. Though you wouldn't know it because the media is always so negative about Iraq, it turns out that that place is actually pretty safe and secure. McCain said he was able to take a pleasant little drive over from the airport, then take a stroll around some markets.
He didn't die. He didn't have his head cut off. He didn't have pieces of his skull blown out by and IED. In fact, he traveled in body armor, with a team of US soldiers (brave heroes) surrounding him, and a personal escort of two armed helicopters.
I can't imagine a country being much safer than that! Damn, we should have it as lucky as those stupid Iraqi people over here!!! LOL! Poor stupid people. They don't realize how awesome they have it with America on their side.
Good for John McCain for exposing the truth about Iraq!!!
Normally, I don't support John McCain though. I remember a few years ago hearing that he may have fathered a mixed race child. I can't remember where I heard that rumor. I'm not a racist. I just believe that mixing of races is wrong, just like gay humping is.

So, are you saying that the soldiers who did have their head cut off or their skull blown off by an IED do not exist? or weren't brave?
Politicians not just McCain travel to the middle east with little fanfair every day. Personally I think it's a waste of time (other than the Executive branch) for our soldiers to put their lives in harms way just to protect someone who wants to put on their resume that they have been to Iraq so many times.

That's not what I'm trying to say at all. Those soldiers are brave. Wounded soldiers are brave. Every soldier, so long as they wear a US flag on their shoulder, is brave in my book.
The point I was making is that it's completely safe in Iraq now. If it wasn't, do you think John McCain would be able to walk through a market with those soldiers, body armor and helicopters? No, they'd all just be hanging out in the swanky green zone.
Since they're out enjoying a few minutes of sun and fun, it proves, once and for all, that things are getting much, much better over there now.

bushcheney*** asserted: The point I was making is that it's completely safe in Iraq now. Great news. Could you provide some documentary backup? Quotations from several news sources of opposing political views, all giving evidence to support your statement? A bit confusing, though, when you follow the above quotation with: If it wasn't, do you think John McCain would be able to walk through a market with those soldiers, body armor and helicopters? With that kind of support, I might even be willing to walk through parts of Chattanooga where otherwise I would never set foot. That wouldn't make them "completely safe." I don't know whether you are dead serious or have your tongue rammed halfway through your cheek. I haven't seen enough posts from you to determine that yet. This, however, is the Debate Lounge, where sources are appreciated, with links to the exact passage or op ed piece that underlies your assertions. Selah.

I hope he was saying it tongue and cheek lol If that is the argument to judge whether Iraq is safe then I guess the Republican arguement as to "Al Gore was not in harm's way because he was only a photographer" was proof that Vietnam was safe

So none of the other soldiers that have died in this effort, on either side, are brave?? None of the British soldiers?? None of the Iraqi soldiers who, for the most part, got fucked worse than anyone in this whole mess, as they were supposed to protect someone that they more than likely hated but had no choice in protecting?? I was correct in my thinking the first time: you're another ignorant, redneck hick. So glad to have you representing us here on the board.
And Gridbug, I'm going to attempt to ignore that.

Those other countries should have to wear our flag too. If they want to be a part of our war, then they gotta pay daddy the proper respect. Honestly, I just assumed they all elected to wear our flag anyways. Guess you learn something new every day.
