Tonight at 8:39 pm Chattanooga Police responded to 1653 Fernwood Circle on a domestic disorder. When the officers arrived they found Ray Diaz age 46 laying in the front yard unresponsive. Diaz was transported to Erlanger Hospital by Hamilton County EMS where he was pronounced DOA. The victim’s brother-in law Herineldo Cintron age 46 was arrested and charged with Criminal Homicide.
The two men got into a argument which escalated into Cintron hitting the victim several times with his fist and then striking the victim with his walker several times. The victim and his wife tried to go next door to get away from the suspect and after walking several feet the victim fell to the ground. Cintron was transported to the Hamilton County Jail. There is no photo on file for the suspect.

Is this the same Herineldo Cintron who was found guilty of vehicular homicide a couple of years ago?

many homicides are tragic, but I'd hate for my tombstone to read "beaten to death by a walker"

Man Charged With Beating Brother-In-Law To Death Cintron Had Earlier Incident Involving Traffic Death posted April 12, 2009 A Chattanooga man has been charged with beating his brother-in-law to death on Saturday night. Cintron is no stranger to court, having faced charges of killing one person and injuring another in a drunken driving accident.Cintron was charged with aggravated vehicular homicide, vehicular homicide, vehicular assault, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, reckless driving and drunken driving in the June 19, 2005, wreck that claimed the life of Deborah Kenyon and injured Donald Kenyon. That case underwent a lengthy appeal after Cintron's attorney claimed he suffered brain injuries in the wreck. Judge Rebecca Stern ruled in 2007 that he was competent to stand trial. He had been free on $100,000 bond in that case. Cintron was convicted of drunken driving on three occasions prior to the fatal wreck.

Regulars at the North Chatt Cat might remember "Harry" as the drummer for a band that used to play on the side deck a few years ago. Can't remember the name of the band, but a girl named Debbie was lead female vocalist... and Harry's ex-girlfriend.
