VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Rich countries bent on power and profit have mercilessly "plundered and sacked" Africa and other poor regions and exported to them the "cynicism of a world without God," Pope Benedict writes in his first book. The Pope also condemns drug trafficking and sexual tourism, saying they are signs of a world brimming with "people who are empty" yet living among abundant material goods. One section of the book was printed in Wednesday's Corriere Della Sera daily before publication later this month by Italian publisher Rizzoli, which owns the newspaper. A Rizzoli spokeswoman confirmed the authenticity of the excerpts. story

Pot, meet kettle.
If ever an organization "plundered and sacked" other regions for their resources, the RCC is among the leaders.

Boy, can't pull the wool over ol' Ratzinger's eyes...
I am sure the Vatican will be distributing the wealth they plundered and sacked to the poor, you know, like that Jesus guy would want done.

Fucking Pope has a lot of damned nerve! How many impoverished third world villages are there that have a big, fancy Catholic church? Hypocrisy, thy name if Benedict.

Just about what I would expect from that SOB and the fucking RCC. Just what the Spanish, aided and abetted by the RCC, did in Central America/Mexico alone stands as one of the most abhorrent abuses in history. And did the Church get a huge haul of gold etc? You bet your ass they did. And the priests stood by praying as the soldiers poured molten lead down the throats of the indigenous people who would not convert to Catholicism. As I've said, I was raised Catholic and what I learned about the RCC when I began to read and discover the truth disgusted me so much that it pretty well put me off any organized religion.

Do you remember his fancy, designer red shoes a while back? I'm so sick and tired of the Catholic Church. My parents and most of my family are completely blinded to the lies. I don't even debate with them. Organized religion has so many blinded fools that it is frightening. I'm not sure when I finally caught on but I've been over it for 10 years and counting. They are nearly as bad as Islam when it comes to respect for women. It is a powerful cult run by filthy rich white men. Nothing else compares to the history of these guys. I like these Ice Cube Lyrics: If you a scared motherf*cker go to church If you a gutter motherf*cker do your dirt If you a down motherf*cker put in work IF you a crazy motherf*cker go berzerk !!

I am of the same opinion regarding the RCC.
I don't need any person to intercede, on my behalf, with the good Lord.
I talk enough with Him all by myself. I sometimes think He is tired of hearing from me! But He has always answered, so far.
Martin Luther had it right.
