Chattanooga Police have identified a man killed in his home around 9:30 this morning as 24-year old Matt Coyle. Police responded to the residence after receiving a frantic call of a person shot at 7616 Standifer Gap Road .
Coyle’s girlfriend advised police that they were both asleep in bed when they were awakened by a loud noise. Coyle got up to see what the commotion was and when he opened the door, he was shot in the head. Responding EMS pronounced Coyle dead at the scene.

situations like this is why i go to the door armed after dark. i peek first, but usually the dog is raising hell so no one has come in to my front yard yet. a 85 pound Pit Bull is a good first line of defense.

This SOOO does NOT sound like a "random act" of burglary.

This SOOO does NOT sound like a "random act" of burglary. It's funny when cops can just sense BS. I was watching this on the news tonight and something just struck me funny. I hope I'm wrong....we'll see

What were they doing in bed at 9:30 am?! Well...nevermind.
Perhaps they both work 3rd shift somewhere.

Hey, LE's -- are these thugs familiar faces to you? Have they been involved in a series of criminal complaints in the past? Also, do they have family members with criminal records, criminal complaints? I wonder which middle & HS they infected attended?
It would be interesting reading to see what Paul Harvey would have called "the rest of the story" whenever home-grown thugs hit the big time having been arrested for a major crime under their thuggish, pants-down belts. They're just the most recent generation to have been stewed to prison-prep perfection in a community-wide, well seasoned criminal cauldron -- let's hear some pertinent background info if possible ....

It still doesn't seem to have all the pieces to the story yet... I agree 100%. I was very surprised that this turned out to be the suspects. I obviously dont have all the fact to case and Im sure that would help tie the loose ends up, but I just a bit more (something that ties them to the area, etc)
