A young coworker asked me last night, what did I enjoy more...a good book or a good movie. Marvell and I think it's comparing apples and oranges. What do you think?

I enjoy a good story, regardless of the medium.

For me, it depends on my mood. There are times I would much rather read a good book than do anything else. And if it comes to books that have been made into movies, I'll go with the book anytime. While I do enjoy movies, generally they do not do the book justice.

Agrees with Honor957. I lose myself in a book...movies are usually just entertaining.

I quit motion pictures when Sam Peckinpaugh died. Gimme a good tome anyday.

If I've read the book, I normally don't enjoy the movie. I've visualized the characters while reading, and rarely do they cast the person I've visualized for the role.
