In honor of Earth Day I'd like to pass this along. Take Action. Our national addiction to oil causes global warming and sends billions of dollars a year to fundamentalist regimes abroad. 40% of the oil we burn is consumed by our cars and trucks. Currently available technology could get a lot more miles per gallon from our vehicles -- but fuel economy standards haven't gotten a significant raise in decades. Click here to tell Congress to pass the Markey-Platts bill to raise fuel economy standards: www.workingforchange.com/activism/action.cfm?itemid=22261&afccode=n99lk1(you may have to copy/paste the link)

When the second sentence contains speculation presented as fact, I tend to ignore everything that comes afterwards.

C'mon worm... We consume WAY more than our share.. Do you recycle? Do you ride a bike to work? We all should do something.. I dont have kids.. but it would be nice to think this planet will sustain life for a few more generations...
OK.. I'll admit I just saw Inconvienient Truth.. and it freaked me out a bit.. the hippy in me is screaming "do something!!!"

So, you saw Gore morph speculation into "fact"?
Why not read the "facts" that contradict him as well?
Besides, how do you determine what "our share" is?
I think everyone should emulate me: Live within 2 miles of work, so you don't burn as much gas. My wife shows me up, though, as her work is only 1.5 miles.
Oh, and quit breathing. Can't have all that CO2 "pollution" now, can we?

One of the better ideas I've heard coming out of the whole Earth Day &c thing is the notion of "buy locally". Better to buy veggies from a local farmer than to buy the same thing that's been shipped clear across country.

I think I will drive to Wal-Mart buy me a new gas grill, buy me a few slabs of beef pork and chicken. Then when I drive back home set that sucker up and have me a Meat searing event.
I may hit the one up in Cleveland. They have the grill I REAALY like

On the money, Gus.
For those who have succumbed to the Profit Owl Gore's propaganda or are considering doing so, Google "The Great Global Warming Swindle".
It's a documentary produced in the UK that uses the exact same data as the Profit Owl Gore to totally disprove the propaganda in his film An Inconvenient Truth. It details how every arctic and antarctic ice core that has been analyzed, all seven of them, along with geologic data covering 600 million years of history, all show that C02 concentration follows temperature, not the other way around. It also shows a direct correlation between the output of the sun and global temperature. (imagine that!) It features climatologists, meteorologists and researchers from all over the world, including the UN IPCC to totally expose the myth of so-called "man made global warming".
Next, check out the comments about the Profit Owl Gore from a couple of weeks ago made by Dr. William Gray of Colorado State University. Dr. Gray is a world renowned climatologist/meteorologist and affectionately known as "the worlds Meteorologist. The gist of his comments were that the Profit Owl Gore is an alarmist and doesn't know squat about what he claims.
Don't be duped!

Thanks for the reminder Sunny K! I worry for the people too. The planet should be around for millions more years. It is the people that have to survive! For all of you nay sayers out there: Go drink from the Tennessee River!

There are those just as happy to 'prove' the world is just 6000 years old too...
