President Obama backtracks on calling Americans 'enemies'... I think tomorrow will show that I am not the only one who is sick of his, and the government's/politician's/media's (In general) BS. Just how much remains to be seen. I also think this is what happens when you try to please all of the people all of the time, pander to the "base", the "base" being dependent on who you are speaking to and about, and fail to actually stand for anything positive if it endangers the political fortune of your simple ass. I think this Presidency will go down in history as worse than the President Carter inspired malaise. And that is hard to top (Or bottom). Me? I'd like to see some politicians with balls, fortitude and basic moral character elected tomorrow, but that may be too much to wish for. Maybe next election cycle when things for us regular people will have gotten even worse. The republicans and the democrats are the best thing that has ever happened to the "Independents". I am not so much for the "Tea Partiers" as I am for electing people who can make realistic change despite their political careers. Tomorrow, I am going to vote for anyone other than the incumbent. I may be pissing in the wind, but it won't be the first time.

Two more years we'll vote out the repubs again. It's cyclical now, throw the bums out. GOP has two short years too create the promised land they ex spouse they couldn't do it in six with W what the hell makes they can do it in 2?
I'm going in wide open today. Wish Bredesen could run again, Thank God Wamp is gone but the replacements suck. Vote no on 2 leave the constitutuion alone the last time we fucked with it we got a gosh darn lottery.

I fear you are correct Jay Santos. When the Republicans won big in 94 they had a mandate to make government smaller. Yet they pissed that mandate away and spend even more than the bums they replaced. Other than where they want to spend the $ there is not much of a difference in a D or an R. They both want to spend. That has got to stop!

I agree, he was part of the old crowd that gave us what we have now. So it is good that he has been 'retired', for now, from politics. We'll just have to see what the winners in the Tennessee will do. I fear you are correct Jay Santos. When the Republicans won big in 94 they had a mandate to make government smaller. Be glad we don't live in GA Jay Santos. The choices for Govenor are bad and worse. One is a former govenor who is not only an arrogant asshole but a trial lawyer to boot. The other is the current 9th Congressional District Rep since 1992 who is also a lawyer and has ethical, legal and financial difficulties. As I said the choices are bad (take your pick) or worse (again take your pick)

The growing of government must stop. If the newly elected take to heart that the citizens want LESS government intrusion, they will be re-elected in 2 years. The need for real conservative legislators has never been greater. Shrink government, cut spending, and start weaning EVERYONE off the tax fund teat.

The problem is that the American voter is impatient and I doubt will have the patience needed over numerous elections. Just look at how Obama's base has turned on him.

The only way we can ever hope to get out of this massive debt is to make some tough choices. England just did it. We have to piss both sides off for the good of the country. Sacrifices must be made for the good of the country. No one running for office will speak of it because WE won't vote for them if they do. Everything has to be on the table. That means taxes, entitlements, defense, everything.

The problem is, those who receive the booty of the political plunder vote the criminals in.
A simple change that only permits those who pay taxes to vote would change that.

Here in Ga we did not have much of a choice (a tired retread or a corrupt congressman). I did cast my vote but not for the one who won. My choice only got 4% of the vote. I did not really know much about him but after looking at the two other choices I could not even hold my nose for either one.

The Republicans now set the agenda. I hope they return to what they were back when I was a Republican. Less war mongering. Less fear mongering. Less hypocrisy on spending. Our country is in trouble. I hope they succeed.

I hope they succeed. They certainly will set the spending agenda come Jan 2011. It will be interesting to see how long it takes before they, Republicans start cutting, if at all. Let us hope they, Republicans, understand this election was not about the American public being pro-Republican. They just happen to be the lesser of the two evils. We want REAL change, not more government. Government is the problem, it is RARELY, if EVER, the solution.

I suggest everyone read "The Death of Common Sense". You'll get a better idea of just how big a problem government is.

I already know how big a problem government is. All one has to do is look at your local ordinances. Regulations on how tall grass can be, how many people can live in your house, etc. It goes on and on. Not only is the Federal government too intrusive; the state and local governments are as well. While they don't garner the attention of the federal government, they have a MUCH greater impact on the everyone's daily lives.

Probably as much as the W admin. worked with the dems during his tenure. As much as the GOP worked with Obama the first two years of his office.
Right or wrong it's going to be a grid lock for two years everyone posturing for 2012.
I see Boner went to the Glen Beck School on crying on cue.

When YOU were a "republican" [little "r"] guys like ME were doing the heavy lifting in a minority environment getting to where we are NOW. It would almost be WORTH the attendant sacrifice to slap the sanctimonious son of a BITCH open-handed across the face. Pot, meet kettle. It will happen in the near future. It polls higher and higher every year. It's inevitable. Either way, the law isn't stopping anyone who wants it from getting it. The law has never had any impact on me. I refrain due to the possibility of testing at work.
