Instead of "Lawyers" I would suggest "Bottom-feeding lawyers" as I know four attorneys that actually have/use a moral compass.

It's not talking about specifics. I also know a few honest politicians, but as a generality, you can say that politicians are crooks.

I know more than 4 decent attorneys. I would say that in my experience there are more good attorneys on the criminal defense side than bad ones. Seems the bad ones get more play in the media for some reason.

Still, the answer would imply that the problem is lawyers, not implying that all lawyers are the problem.

I would agree with that. The entire system has lost all credibility with the public and especially the defendants.

The problem is that the legal system is based on some undefined degree of reasonableness and we have long gone beyond being reasonable.

We've started using reason instead of reasonableness.

It's not scientific, obviously, but the opinion here seems to be, Duke is very much in the minority.

Bad Laws and loopholes, hands down.
Whether you're red or blue, maybe FINALLY Tennessee's Legislature will WAKE UP and dismantle this Dismus' maze of awful criminal law and procedure.
