No joke! ATF bans scrub-pad stockpiles Feds warns kitchen staple considered part of 'silencer' Nov 26, 2011 by By Bob Unruh "Put down the Chore Boy and back away from the weaponry!" It's an order that actually could be heard, given that a letter has surfaced from the federal government warning against consumers stockpiling Chore Boy household scrubbers because they can be considered a component of a gun silencer and, therefore, regulated by federal gun laws. The letter is from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the ATF. It was obtained by David Codrea, who publishes online as the Gun Rights Examiner. And it comes from a federal agency that earlier determined a 14-inch-long piece of shoestring must be regulated under federal gun laws and restrictions because it is a "machinegun." jpfo.org/images02/shoestring.jpg www.wnd.com/?pageId=368769#ixzz1euq92WQBAlso see: www.examiner.com/gun-rights-in-national/atf-classifies-chore-boy-pot-scrubber-pads-nfa-firearms

This is what happens when the put anti-gun Chicago cronies in charge. These people would not know the difference between a AK-47 and pile of poo.

first off, you are dealing with an NFA item. www.atf.gov/publications/firearms/nfa-handbook/2nd, this is a very old style suppressor, It would have been better to replace it with a newer made version. 3rd, how much would it have cost the guy to have a manufacturer/gunsmith licensed to work on NFA items actually replace the items? not much really. unfortunately there is now an ATF ruling b/c the question was asked. I will grant that there should be an overhaul on how the ATF makes a lot of its rulings, and contradicting rulings, when dealing with NFA items.
