for those of you who did not know, our wonderful Governor vetoed HB0962 today. now it goes back to the house to get an override vote which even the Governor said would more than likely happen anyway. what a son of a bitch. www.wrcbtv.com/Global/story.asp?S=10439719

I'm disappointed to see Chief Cooper jump on this lame-duck bandwagon.
Override it.

yes, that caught me by surprise as well. chattanooga needs all the help it can get. there have been far too many shootings in the past few months.

I am very disappointed by this.
what is the point of vetoing a bill, knowing that it will be overturned?

my guess is he did that in the hopes that his constituents who initially voted for this might change their minds on the override vote.
remember, in his 2006 campaign, he put in writing to the NRA and the residents of this state that he would support this bill if and when it came to his desk. it looks like the political train won again, but only for a short time.
what worries me now, is how fast will the override vote take place? can they get it done in one day so it still becomes law on June 1st?
