Well, I think it's time we started planning another Notta Shoot! The first Shoot went well, we had a whole six people show up, with four of them shooting toss up some ideas and we will go from there.

Look at the calendar very closely and check, double check and triple check that the planned date doesn't conflict with some other popular event. We're getting into the event season (trust me, as a party planner for the past decade, I'm all to aware of this), and it can take a bit of research to find the right date.

Well, next weekend I have drill so that is out for me and my May is looking bad. Plus if I cannot find any ammo, I will have to throw the guns themselves at the targets.. :9

forget about throwing your guns, just grab some rocks. cheaper than buying ammo and you don't have to worry about scratching the finish.

ah yes.... I understand it all completely. hence why this is a "planning thread".... this should give us time to settle on an appropriate date. and allow us time to find ammo!

Fun Grrl....what caliber are you looking for? it took me 3 months to find .40 at a walmart. i called 6 stores a day for 2 weeks before any turned up. i then went and purchased 500 rounds.
GT Distributors in rockvegas has all kinds of ammo. you will pay about a dollar more per box though.

Goomba (or anyone headed that direction) let me know when you go again and I will give you some cash to pick some up for me.. can do, but honestly, Id try to buy what you can find at wally world. the prices for just a box of cheap magtech 45acp are too much. like 24 bucks for 50rounds, I heard today that bentons bought almost the last that chattanooga shooters had.... but then again I dont even know where chattanooga shooters is at...and I have heard they dont sell to individuals... can anybody confirm/denythis?

you can go to GT Distributors in Rockvegas and buy anything but guns. they opened up to the public last year when business started going downhill. go to the white door and press the doorbell to get the door opened. then have a blast. holsters, clothing, you can buy any firearm accessory like mags, extensions, springs, sights and lasers etc. they install anything you buy if you want to leave your firearm for a short time.

(and back to the topic at hand.)
I've just said this in the carrying II thread.
the Notta shoot is open to everybody. You don't have to own a firearm, you don't even need to know how to shoot.
I will be glad to provide you with the appropriate hearing and eye protection. as well as allowing the use of a nice 22 rifle (little noise, little kick) to introduce you to the sport of shooting. I will have plenty of targets available!!
If you have ever considered, or your just curious, please attend the next Notta Shoot! We are always happy to answer any and all questions about our (my) favorite past time.
I promise you, you will have a fun day at the range, and even if you choose to not shoot, you'll learn about an American outdoor tradition.

You can buy all the guns you want from there. Long guns are sold there. Handguns are transfered down the street when you leave. I might be up for a group shoot....not to fond of Prentice Cooper though! Are there anymore folks here members at CHRPC?

but do you get to pay the low low price that is quoted in the catalogs? i have one from there and a brand spanking new G19 for example is $375 to $425 depending on what department you work for (that dictates the price in the catalog. your employer.)
the fully assembled AR15s are around 900 bucks from GT. i bet they dont sell for that down the street. i could be wrong. that is why i am asking =)

some firearms at GTs require you to be one of the following: police, military or security. otherwise, you pay the price listed. the AR's are NOT currently 900... thats what I paid for my bushmaster texas AR. plus tax etc. and that was the cheapest model they had.
all firearms and ammo are subject to you having the proper licensing....
