Haven't tried it yet. Amigo tends to be hit and miss. Hixson not so great, Red Bank pretty good (or was last time I was there, but that's been a while). Maybe this one will be ok, but with Las Margarita's closer to home, don't think I'll be going there very often.

The Amigo in East Ridge is consistently very good, for what it's worth.

The Amigo in East Ridge is consistently very good, for what it's worth. Amigo's in East ridge is the perfect example of bad service. the last time I was there the waitress walked up to our table talking on her cell phone. the time before that (about a year) I was sitting at the table right in front of the place where you pay. Finished my beer before my food came and NEVER was asked again if I wanted anything, how was my food etc. I laid the beer mug on its side in plain view of the counter and it didn't help. When I went up to the counter and said I needed to pay and had never even been asked if I wanted another beer they ALL looked like they didn't understand. I said CHECK and they found one. The amigos in brainerd has good food but no wheelchair access to the bathroom. and if you go to the bathroom in east ridge, don't look around much... its nasty. (including the view of the prep area on the way back) Not sure how they are still in business but perhaps its just me...

I've eaten there off and on for the past five years and have always had acceptable service. And never had any issues with the restrooms, either.
Just my experience -- yours obviously has been different, but I have no problem recommending it to people.

I like the Amigos in Brainerd Village. Very fast and friendly service each time I frequent the establishment.

I like the Amigos in Brainerd Village. Very fast and friendly service each time I frequent the establishment. I was telling some friends about horrible service at the amigos at brainerd village who eat there a lot. They said "Oh you have to make sure you get one of the guys to wait on you".

I go to Amigo in ER 2-4 times a month. 3 out of those 4 times the service is pretty garbage. There most definitely is a girl who serves there and she doesn't give one damn about her job. She is very good looking though, so she's got that going for her.
The place seems to be pretty clean. not great but not noticably bad. The quality of the food seems to be very consistent. It's just mostly americanized mexican food. pretty standard and simple stuff.
The way I look at it. They got a good bar where I can get a decent bite, some really cheap drinks & draft beer. 3 big nice TVs that they'll give me the remote to (eventually) & I tip the smallest amount of anywhere else I frequent. So it's overall a very nice value for me. I really only need my food brought to me & a couple/three top offs & then I want to be left alone.
If they don't mind bad tips, I don't mind bad service.

I like the Amigos in Brainerd Village. Very fast and friendly service each time I frequent the establishment. Ditto, I work at the H&R Block just down the way and eat there often and have never had bad food or bad service.

Bryan, yeah she looks good in a "reasonably fit" way as does the girl that works at the brainerd location.
but I agree, since the nearest comparable location is two doors down from buds (and I have not tried it since its latest name change)
If I'm wanting beautiful waitresses I'll go to hooters or buds depending on what night and which of my model friends are working that night. But I then also have to expect to spend twice or more than the Mexican place.
(yes I know amazing models that work at many of the restaurants around town, its just that my budget fits Hooters better than bone fish or Alexanders )

I haven't been in a while but if I need an Amigo fix I usually drive out to the Red Bank location. I use to live in that area and was there pretty much every Monday night. It probably didn't hurt that the bartender (I always sat at the bar with a buddy or two) looked quite a bit better then good.

Amigos are ratholes.
If you want starchy, bland crap from the local carneceria, go to 'em.
The only reason I'll darken the door is to deport somebody.
