A new interesting debatable topic. www.wsbtv.com/news/news/local/school-board-member-wins-porn-fight/nG7MW/A forensic computer expert said he found the sexually explicit images, along with rap music, on Garrett’s computer while investigating district equipment last year, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reported. He said the data could not have been downloaded accidentally. The facts: This teacher was almost fired because they found "explicit" photos in her browsing history. They also found music on her take home computer.

rap "music"; a gateway stimulus to porn! This should be an interesting topic, but too bad most people ignored it. You make a good point. If the teacher is assigned a computer for her long term use, why would she not use it? You download your copy of "As Nasty as They Want to Be" (a classic), and then music and "explicit" material is copied. BAM, your ass is fired when "the MAN" scans your computer. Could anyone use a computer and not have "explicit" material on their computer? If she has anything illegal, fire her, but mere "explicit" material means nothing to me.

rap "music"; a gateway stimulus to porn! Not true. I started watching porn long before I liked rap music. I mean, I don't watch that stuff....

What bothered me about this was that the woman is a board member, elected to her position. She was not an employee. A board of peers, elected by the community, shouldn't have the authority to fire one another. That's the voter's or the court's job.

my computer at work is on and in use 24/7 by any number of people who work other shifts. Anything could be on it. If it could be proven that it was on my time, that would be different. Message board is the only alien thing on there. Hmmm

I guess at any time in our at computing we are 2 degrees of seperation from explicit material. Let's say this chick wants to see some peener... Should we really punish her for looking at such things on her own time at home?
