No doubt the death of the FL teen, Trayvon, is a tragedy, as is any death, especially a young person. I feel another tragedy is our president again jumping into a local situation before all the facts are made known. His comments only stir an already volatile situation.

What comments are you over-reacting to? Obama's expression of concern? His expression of identification? His desire to "..get to the bottom.." of what happened?
YOUR spots are showing.

My spots are "States Rights" spots. In this area we have had, what ?, 30 shootings so far this year with a few fatalities. Also tragic. Did any of our National politicians speak out. Did the president mention any area victims being like "a member of his family". If I recall correctly, POTUS's first response to the Sanford tragedy was that it was a local issue. When it became politically advantageous for him to "adopt" the victim he did so only to make the Sanford officals job more challenging.

You mean stories like this one from Obama's hometown? 10 dead, at least 39 others wounded in weekend violence I wonder why the current occupant of the White House doesn't relate to those people? I guess he can't relate to an innocent 6 year old girl. But, he does relate to the person whose FB page showed him in a hoodie and talked about stalking people and acting all gangsta... Oh, wait, the MSM is showing only his childhood pictures, not his "all grown up" pictures.

So you're saying he deserved to be murdered because of his facebook profile.

Can't be true this isn't Obama's hometown remember he was born in Kenya. home·town [hohm-toun] Show IPA noun 1. the town or city in which a person lives or was born, or from which a person comes. So you're saying he deserved to be murdered because of his facebook profile. Anyone with at least a room temperature IQ would understand that I was saying that he's not the innocent little child that Obama and the MSM wants to portray him, but considering who's asking the question, I understand that room temp IQ numbers are a goal that will never be achieved. And self defense isn't murder.

We'll let the Justice Dept determine that. I really have a hard time believing any thing you say. You're story teller when asked for facts you run and hide. Then come back with more stories, if their your opinions that's fine say as much. But you say them as if they were factual and you never back up anything with facts.

Shooting an unarmed Teenager is murder. I think ol boy was getting his ass kicked and took the cowards way out. He had no reason to confront the kid or follow him. When you're out looking for trouble it will find you. He's a wheel biter wanna be cop. Hopefully he'll be in an orange jumpsuit for the rest of his pathetic pussy cowardly life.

Aceman if someone attacks me puts me one the ground then keeps comming I am going to draw my pistol and defend myself point blank. I am old and have bad knees and back. If I am being attacked my life would be in danger and I will do anything I have to do to be the one who walks away. There was a story I read that the pussy as you call him was walking away when this innocent teen attacked him. That is what an eye witness to the altercation stated.

I'm unaware of any evidence indicating the teen was anything but innocent or that he in any way attacked the shooter. Smearing the kid due to FB postings, pics or posings is just shallow, mindless, biased bilge and is an indictment of any who so impune. To presume self-defense is a lawyer-like tactic, and is a baised leap to the defense of the shooter w/o regard to evidence. To criticize Obama for sympathizing with one victim vs all victims demonstrates that the critic has the bias of which they accuse Obama. Keep playin' yer cards, good ol' boys.

Isn't that exactly what you are doing to Zimmerman? Smearing him due to FB post and half truths. you presume that Zimmerman just walked up to Travon and shot him without any provocation. witness

You're making stuff up again. I haven't smeared anyone. I refered to Zimmerman as the "shooter", an admitted fact. I have not made the presumption you fabricated. I accept as fact that the kid was unarmed. I believe, from the press, that Zimmerman was following the kid. I stated that presuming self-defense, w/o any evidence, is a lawyer-like tactic.
You can continue to make up what ever story you like, but your last post was fabricated bullshit having nothing to do with my statements. You've lost whatever marginal credibiluty you might have had.

I'll admit to not following this story that closely. But from what I have seen about it seems to indicate that the kid attacked Zimmerman. As osrb posted above, there's now an actual witness that is claiming this. The only other "witness" was the kid's GF who was on the phone with him.
This is starting to look like another fabricated story from the press about a "racial killing".
Far as the teen being unarmed goes, this statement from orsb is right on point: "Aceman if someone attacks me puts me one the ground then keeps comming I am going to draw my pistol and defend myself point blank. "
In the game of life and death, a deadly weapon can be anything from a gun to a fist. And just like orsb, if someone is beating me, I am going to shoot them. Period. I am not going to lay victim to a severe beating or be killed.

You people sound like the Media, where the trial has apparently already been held. Don't waste your time on the President, blame the Press.
Anyone ever hear of a right to a trial in a court of law?

That is just an old an outdated concept. The press has already convicted him by not writing the entire story. They are picking a choosing in order to convict Zimmerman. Some are showing the other side. I have no idea on what happened and why. If Zimmerman did over react then he should be punished. The people who are calling for his head are mainly doing it out or racism. Story

The Black Panthers have posted a bounty on Zimmerman's head and Spike Lee has tweeted Zimmerman's address at least twice.
I wonder what would have happened if the KKK had openly posted a bounty on Spike Lee's (or any black man's) head?

No one is advocating being passive in a genuinely threatening situation. I have seen no evidence or even verifiable statements presented that indicate the kid attacked, much less grounded the shooter. If anything, the shooter had been aggressively pursuing the kid (against police directions) and may himself have been seen as a threat by the kid, who may have acted in self defense. I don't know. Neither do you. Innocent until proved guilty. Threats by anyone are reprehensible and are vigilantism. Self-appointed "watchmen" come close to being vigilantes too.
You may have forgotten that this thread was started as an excuse to attack Obama for making an innocuous statement or not commenting equally on everything. It devolved into impugning the dead kid's character and culpability (nothing had yet been said RE: the shooter), and then into a gratuitous screed on the right of self defense. Now the focus has shifted to what some malignat meatheads are doing by targeting the shooter.
Sure sounds as if some of you have agendas that just keep spilling over any boundary.

Well, I said "some," not "all". But if your shoe fits: media fabrication, "racial", as if the right for self-defense were being attacked. Three will do.

************************************************** In his version of events, he had turned around and was walking back to his SUV when Trayvon approached him from behind, the two exchanged words then Trayvon punched him in the nose, sending him to the ground, and began beating him.One witnesses, who has since talked to local television news reporters, told police he saw Zimmerman on the ground with Trayvon on top, pounding him and was unequivocal that it was Zimmerman who was crying for help.Orlando Sentinel********** Sounds like self defense to me. If this version is correct then Zimmerman was in the right protecting himself. A 17 yr old can be pretty strong and fast. In this case the only place age must taken into effect is that the 17 yr old did not have the control to walk away.

The media has shown a bad picture of Zimmerman beside a cute little innocent of a younger Trayvon repeatedly.
I wonder if it would be racist to show a picture of Zimmerman wearing a suit and Trayvon's FB gangsta pics, though?

How surprising - supporters of Martin and supporters of Zimmerman are telling different stories. Let it be decided in a court as it should be, not in the media and the mob like it is now.
Actually the only thing surprising me is the lack of LR's post pointing out that the kid was a pothead and therefore violent.
