Seems weird Target is selling groceries (even has a produce section)
Personally I don't think their checkout lanes can handle the extra load.

Can't imagine unmelted ice cream. Haven't been yet. Curious about the quality of their produce, meats. Should be a tough sell with Fresh Market, Earth Fare, BiLo near by and Publix only a couple mi away.

Don't know about their expanded product line (meats, produce) but most of their other products are quite good. Their house brand Archer Farms is consistently good.

I no longer shop at Target, but their selection was good even if a bit higher priced than Wally World.

Unless it is a major emergency, I only buy tomatos from those who grew them.

I would rather shop at Target than wal-mart. Prices are a higher but so is the quality.

in what circumstance would a major emergency involve tomatoes?

in what circumstance would a major emergency involve tomatoes? What if you were standing on a corner and a local former or current radio personality walked by, and you could run into Target and buy some rotten tomatoes and run back out and pelt him/her/it. Would that count as an emergency???

I only know 3 radio "personalities" on sight, none of whom deserve the tomato treatment.

OK I might be getting a new puppy so today I priced dog food.
beniful regular 30lb bag in order from best price to worse pet smart wal mart petco target (only about $5 separates the best from worst)
Target has a few good prices but bi-lo is better on average for bulk groceries. (I do prefer Target's kitchen wares department though)

Bob: That's the food that I get for my collie...are you saying that PetSmart has the best price? Out of "habit" I get it at WallyWorld, but I'm close to both. (PetSmart has coupons occasionally, too.)

Suck up? They don't know me from Adam. Besides, it's not that they are anything special, exactly the opposite, why waste my time and tomatos?

Just got back from my first "grocery-shopping trip" to Target. Had a buggy, a little Target coupon booklet that I just got in the mail, and a brand-new debit card, all ready to spend.
Much to my dismay, I found most of the aisles in their "grocery department" were blocked both by floats of flattened cardboard boxes and Target "suits" surveying their new profit center. I did dodge my way through the section and compared their "Sale" prices.
Grabbed an 89-cent bag of frozen vegetables, tossed my coupons in the trash, and hit the door. When I got home I checked the receipt and found I'd been charged 99 cents. Feh.
If I want to pay these prices I'll go back to Publix, where the aisles are wide, no empty boxes stacked in the chicken section, and the service is outstanding.
If WalMart continues to get their act together and if service is not an issue, Target won't be a big threat to them.

I've eaten pickled pig lips before, not bad, mostly cartilage, but I didn't get them at Wal-Mart or Target.

Could be a lot worse than a pickled pig lip. I've also attended the international chittlin festival on more than one occasion, thats where I found out the effectiveness of using plenty of hot sauce and plenty of ketchup to mask the flavors of food and also where I first tasted bourbon whiskey, Kentucky Tavern.
