I like American Pickers on the History Channel and some of the movies on TCM. I quit smoking 13 years ago. So I use that money to buy DVDs. I like the silly ones and very rarely buy any rated R. Disney is still the best.

Depends. Sometimes I want to keep it short and go for a show, sometimes a movie.
Recently I've been pulling a british show on Netflix. Know what I like about some of the british shows? The actors/acresses are more believable as real people rather than unattainable ideals. I've been enjoying "Rosemary and Thyme," a British murder mystery show featuring to gardeners that sleuth out murderers. That's not the believable part, it's that the gardeners aren't glam 20somethings with expensive cars and clothes unsupportable on such a salary. They actually look like people you might see on the street. An American version of same would have them in expensive clothes, driving a car worth far more than a gardener would drive (maybe a brand new Hummer instead of an ancient old Land Rover from the '60s or '70s), they'd never actually be dirty, and they'd both be knockout stunning beauties. At least that's how the shows these days seem to me. Murder, She Wrote was a long time ago.

Just hilarious. Anyhoo, no contest for me, I'll take a good book, or even a mediocre one, over any TV show or most movies anyday.

MST3K is still my favorite.
Does that qualify as movies or TV show?

JC it was spam until Justin "dis-armed" it. And since so few people here will start a thread why not.

Wouldn't be the first time, won't be the last.
Sometimes the spammers bring up something that's worth talking about.

Watch AMC on Sunday nights or at least DVR it. Breaking Bad, The Killing, The Walking Dead, Hell On Wheels, and Madmen; dirty gritty Tee Vee at its finest with no Hollywood glam glam (well maybe on Madmen, those women are just plain HAWT).
