AURORA, CO — The number of people seeking to buy guns in Colorado has soared since last week's mass shooting in the town of Aurora, say law officials. In the three days after the shooting, applications for the background checks needed to buy a gun legally were up 43% on the previous week. The shooting at a cinema showing the new Batman movie left 12 people dead and 58 injured - 20 remain in hospital. James Holmes, 24, is accused of throwing two canisters of gas into a busy midnight showing of the Batman film The Dark Knight Rises, before firing at random into the crowd. www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-18980974

I would respectfully suggest the rush has less to do with the buyer's feelings of safety, and everything to do with the buyer's worry the Government will seek to enjoin their Second amendment right to own them.

I came home from work one night and noticed that the back door had been broken into. So, I reached for my Walther 380 and walked into the house. Nothing appeared to be broken. I called 911. The police came and walked through the house. One actually picked up my smallest dog and gave it a kiss. Then they noticed my Walther. They asked if there were any more weapons. I said yes. They asked what kind. I said in what room. One of the officers shook my hand. I was then told to shoot, drag the body inside and then call them.
enough said. I have the right to be armed. I am not dangerous. But don't knock on my door at the same time you are breaking a window.
The thing that killed in Aurora is not human. Because of that, it does not deserve any type of defense. Lets stop spending money on two legged, mentally diseased animals and keep the death penalty.
