I like coffee. I'm not a coffee-house snob, by any stretch of the imagination, but I do enjoy a good cup of joe. I generally start the day with a fresh cup, laced with a couple spoons of sugar and some nice real-dairy creamer. Sometimes in the evening, when I get home from work, I might have a second cup just to get me over the late day hump. But I'm not one of those "pot a day" types that seem to be unable to function without their hourly intake of the java juice. Turns out, they're just fine. And so are you if you really like to drink a lot of coffee every day. "If you like coffee, go ahead and drink as much as you want and can," says Dr. Peter Martin, director of the Institute for Coffee Studies at Vanderbilt University. You heard the man. Not only is he a doctor, he's also to head of the "Institute for Coffee Studies" at the very legitimate Vanderbilt University. He's even developed a metric for monitoring your dosage. being a retired computer programmer I love my coffee. instant, black with hot tap water no problem.. If I go into my office and spy the cup of coffee that's 19 hours old.. it tastes like coffee it't good..
guess you wouldn't call me a connoisseur

Coffee snob alert: we buy green coffee beans online about once a month, I roast enough for 2 or 3 days at a time then grind a days worth and make. I drink 2 cups a day, the aging body can't handle any more these days.
Please be advised that I do not consider anyone who does otherwise to be bad people. Each to their own!

TNBear: if i took one "pot" of coffee ready to brew and the same amount of ground beans/water from some place that sells the same kind. Would you be able to tell the two cups apart?
I enjoy the smell of coffee, love grinding the beans but sadly realized one day I couldn't tell the difference between the expensive blend I was buying and maxwell house. [grin] Shortly after that is when I learned I don't really care as long as its not bitter anything including instant is fine, as long as it tastes like coffee.

Same way as Bob. I'll take whatever is on sale. Maxwell, Folgers, JFG (when I can find it), doesn't matter. I do favor the Doughnut House blend for the Keurig though.
I would call myself a creamer snob. I keep my freezer stocked up on real dairy cream of various flavors. Only nondairy cream I like is the International Delight Peppermint Mocha. Other fake dairy and powered creamers is absolutely disgusting.

I limit my coffee intake to no more than a gallon per day because I truly believe in moderation.
