Top City Officials Must Resign By Friday, Reapply For Jobs In Berke Administration Tuesday, April 02, 2013
There's no job security for longtime city officials in the Ron Littlefield administration. They all have to resign by Friday. If they want to stay on, they must reapply with the new Andy Berke administration. Mr. Berke, who takes office in a couple of weeks, earlier announced Wade Hinton and Travis McDonough are leading his transition team. Mr. McDonough will also be chief of staff - a post that Dan Johnson held under Mayor Littlefield. Other posts up for grabs include Police Chief, Education, Arts and Culture administrator, General Services administrator, Human Services administrator, Multicultural Affairs administrator and Personnel administrator. Bobby Dodd, Missy Crutchfield, Danny Thornton, Ron Swafford, Beverly Cosley and Susan Dubose could not immediately be reached. Read more: chattanoogan

Let's see if this just a dog and pony show. Some should be re-hired but 90% of them need to be told to move on.

Longshot is a very interesting and intelligent person. However I am not sure his strengths lie at the Executive level. Gadfly is an honorable and necessary position however.

I am hoping a recent article in the TFP alluding to Chief Dodd's upcoming trip, to another like sized city, to study how they are effectively dealing with a crime problem, is a good omen that Chief Dodd will remain at the helm of the CPD.
I'd post a link, but I can't find it, so take my word for it. ;D
(And, this is yet another example of why I have absolutely no political aspirations beyond my tenuously held current rank.)
