We dropped in for lunch here today and were glad we did. The folks are very friendly, welcoming you with a loud "hola" just as I heard in Mexico. We were seated and given menus and were promply served chips, salsa and bean dip. The chips were warm and not oily, the salsa could have been a little hotter for my taste but was very flavorful. The bean dip was quite good and a nice extra. I was disappointed, but not surprised, that they did not have Bohemia, however I made do happily with a Pacifico. Choosing a main dish was difficult as the menu is quite extensive. I finally settled on the Enchiladas de Mole, corn tortillas filled with chicken and covered in a dark mole sauce, sprinkled with cheese and run under the salamander. Very good, the mole was slightly sweet but richly flavored with a multitude of herbs and spices. Mrs. Bear chose the Sopitas, masa dough formed into a boat shape, cooked and filled with your choice of picadillo, pork or chicken. She chose one picadillo and one chicken, the picadillo is shredded beef which is seasoned with a great mixture of spices. Both were very tasty and were served with a topping of lettuce, sour cream and quacamole. We also shared a tamale that is filled with the picadillo. It was excellent. We will be back to try more of this great food.

How many moles did they have to squeeze to get all that dark sauce? Did they run it through a cheesecloth first?

We think this is probably the best Mexican food to be found in Chattanooga.

So where is it? I've not heard of it before.

Mountain Creek Road, where Pario's was, then Two old Guys or whatever. Forgot to mention that the cheese dip is killer also.
