We recently stopped at the Mi Casita Mexican Restaurant located at 3450 Cummings Highway in the Lookout Valley Wal-Mart center. This is in the new strip center of shops located across the parking lot from Wal-Mart. I cannot say that we were impressed – or at least I wasn’t. We started off with the usual chips and salsa, but the chips were a bit on the chewy side. I think they might have been sitting out from the night before. Wayne said the salsa was “wimpy”. It was mostly a smooth salsa, no chunks. Our server sat it down and left so fast, we didn’t have time to ask if they had tomatillo or a hotter salsa – so we still don’t know. Mi Casita has quite a few Appetizers listed: a variety of Nachos, Quesadillas, dips and wings. Prices range from $1.75 for the Guacamole Salad to $7.25 for a dozen wings. We did not order an appetizer. By the time we saw our server again, he was bringing our entrees. The menu offers numerous plates as well as A La Carte items and the prices are reasonable. I thought it was funny that the menu is divided into sections such as Chicken, Especialidades, Fajitas, etc., with one section called “Letters A-F”. www.chattanoogan.com/articles/article_115879.asp

We drove by tonight...They are officially out of business. They simply did not stand out in the crowd of mostly dreadful Mexican places in the Chattanooga area...Everone knows the drill. Order by number. Pretty much every thing tastes exactly like everything else. A little cheese and metallic tasting red sauce. For the truly adventurous types take a chance on Chile Rellenos that have an oh so subtle hint of freezer burn. Tacos Tu Go is located in the same shopping center no wonder this place went under. It is usually Very Good. I actually crave dinner from there as well as La Altena and La Costa. Las Margaritas should be the next one to go. If you judge them by the Margarita quality they don't stand a chance. Kind of like Del Taco with a bar...

No wonder the food was so so. They were probably trying to get rid of stuff instead of buying fresh! The server might have been busy in the back packing...

Wow! I'm surprised. Although with the food they served us, I shouldn't be! I also agree that most of the Mexican places around here are all the same. Our favorite is La Costa, but we also like Los Compadres.
There's a very small place on Lee Highway we've been recommended to try, but we haven't gotten over there yet. Will have to check them out soon.

We tried it (Taco Roc) - we LOVE it! Small menu - about seven items - but a good list of meat/veggie toppings. We will definitely go back! Only 5 tables. Review on Friday!

I look pretty young, but I'm just back-dated.
