The Chattanooga Beer Board voted Thursday morning to suspend the beer license of Linda Cagle, owner of Highway 58 Bar and Deli, for seven days for having gambling machines and other gambling devices on her property in late October. Police found three slot machines with money in them and football parlay cards. Ms. Cagle had already been cited once for gambling machines, and those machines had been removed by police. Detective Daniel Anderson spoke highly of Ms. Cagle, but said he understood her husband, Fred Cagle, runs the bar and owns the gambling machines. Det. Anderson said he visited the bar undercover several times and in uniform on two occasions to arrest Mr. Cagle himself. “She’s a bit of an absentee owner,” said board member Kathy Jones. www.chattanoogan.com/articles/article_117078.asp
