This very small restaurant at 6313 East Brainerd Road offers wonderful food in a cozy setting. You will find only four or five tables at Café Francais, but that’s enough for the owner who does everything – she greets you at the door, seats you, prepares your food and is your server as well. She is open for lunch, but dinner is by reservation only. She prefers to know your entree in advance as she selects the items fresh on the day of your visit. We recently met friends for dinner at the cafe, and enjoyed a very nice evening. We were entertained by Ms. Chesney whose piano repertoire included everything from Music of the Night from Phantom of the Opera to 40’s styles to Rocky Top! It was a very enjoyable evening. She was playing just for us! Since you order in advance, there is an unlimited menu you could create yourself. Some of owner, Evelyn Putman’s suggestions include Bouillabaise, Beef Burgundy, Duck a ‘la Orange, Seafood La’Rochelle and Medallions of Lamb. She can also prepare ratatouille, which is very popular these days, due to the movie of the same name. Of course, this is by no means the limit of her prowess. it's on the expensive side of things by the looks of the menu. I would give it around a yr to stay in business.

For the type of food, this is reasonably priced.

She's been in this location for almost four years.
I love her French onion soup, she doesn't use beef broth like a lot of places.
