A Dunlap man rammed three police vehicles, including one occupied by Sequatchie County Sheriff Ronnie Hitchcock, on Wednesday afternoon.
At about 3:10 p.m. CST, officers from the Sequatchie County Sheriff's Office recieved a report of a hit and run in the Cagle community on Highway 111 north. Officers located the car near the Dunlap city limits on Highway 111 and attempted to initiate a traffic stop.
The driver of the pickup refused to stop and a pursuit was initiated. During the pursuit the suspect intentionally rammed two police cars. The suspect was finally stopped after he hit a third police car head on and could not continue.
During the arrest the suspect resisted arrest and even tried to to take one of the officer's guns away, authorities said. The suspect was identified as Ben Sanders, 67.
