On Tuesday, August 7, 2007 the Chattanooga Police Department Crime Prevention Unit, will be hosting the 24th Annual National Night Out Against Crime Celebration.
The kick off for this event will be sponsored by Lupton City Neighborhood Association and held at the Brooks United Methodist Church located at 3916 Fairfax Dr. Extension.
National Night Out is designed to:
Along with the traditional display of outdoor lights and front porch vigils, neighborhoods 'celebrate' National Night Out with a variety of events and activities such as: block parties, cookouts, exhibits, flashlight walks, contests and youth programs.
There are a total of 23 neighborhoods participating in this years event, most of these locations will be serving refreshments and some will be providing food and treats. This year National Night out will raise our communities awareness concerning crime prevention and personal safety.
Residents, law enforcement agencies, community groups and businesses all across the city and county will celebrate crime prevention awareness and send a message that crime will not be tolerated in our communities.
