Those record high prices have some motorists thinking twice about keeping their truck or SUV. Dealerships report a change in customer preference among shoppers looking for a new automobile. For years, Herb Adcox says most his customers arrived at the lot looking for a new truck. But recently, the top request changed. Herb Adcox says, "a larger majority of people coming in want to look at economy cars." With gas prices at record highs, many motorists say they can't afford to keep a vehicle that guzzles gas. Adcox says they're trading those inefficient autos for models that get at least 30-miles per gallon. "Our so called entry level car, the Cobalt, gets around 32 or 33, its very much in demand." wdef.com/news/gas_prices_make_vehicle_buyers_think_small_this_summer/04/2008

Your late-model trade-in SUV is being containerized for shipment to the Middle East for resale at vast profit. Thank you for participating in this event.

My dad asks me when I'm going to buy a real car. That's Pickup, SUV or large sedan to him. I think I'll stick to my Miata and 250cc Motorcycle. If I need a truck for a couple days that's what enterprise rentals are for

I've been contemplating trading in my Taurus. The V6 is nice, but it's not exactly a very fuel efficient vehicle.

And now the price of economy cars will skyrocket even more.

I realize this is a very touchy subject. My husband and I don't go to movies, we don't out to eat. The only enjoyment we entertain is our love of flea markets and antique stores. We travel on any give weekend up to 300 miles to reach our favorite places. We have parked our camper for vacation in an area known for its anitque shopping district.
The price of gas is taking away our only form of enjoyment. And it may soon be taking away our only means of driving to work. Yeah, I drive a dorky mini van. But I will not sleep in it.
Boy, my collar is hot now!!!
