Time for regime change at the school board, ya think?

Sounds like what almost happened here:
All funding for sports was cut.
Volunteers came up with the money for a new football field.
A local yard person offered to sod it and care for it completely and guarantee it for 5 years for a very good price.
The bureaucrats in Soldotna "weren't sure that we could accept that because...", then proceeded to list things such as liability if this established man went out of business, and how unfair it was that the other sports couldn't raise this much money, etc.
We got noisy and got our way.

Is there truly anyone surprised about this? Is there anyone really surprised at the huge numbers of parents who live paycheck to paycheck, work second jobs and sacrifice their own pleasures to pay the bills on private schooling just so their children have a chance at getting a real education?

It's WAY past time to cleanse the board of some of its personnel. Add to that educrats' penchant for officious, incompetent bureaucracy & compare the public skool approach to the privates (Bright School in this case) -- there's a night & day object lesson even most public skool grads are capable of appreciating ....

They're famous for them.
Or, is that infamous?

ROFLMAO!!!
Luckily I was just wrapping up my schooling when I moved here. If they didn't have football I doubt they'd bother with schools in TN...

The school here is good, and so is the income.
We have an opening right now.

Too dark?
We have a lot more daylight than dark right now, and in a couple of months, it won't get dark at all.
Far? Yeah.
Cold? Relative.

Ironically, my wife does better in the winter than the summer. One of the things that you're supposed to be careful of is depression in the winter. Not her! She can sleep and sleep and sleep. She likes that. But, the summer, when I thrive because of all the daylight, she can't sleep. I can keep going and going as long as it's daylight.

I'm a night person....but I still don't think I could get used to it being dark all the time... In the winter, when I have to wake up early and it's still dark.......I feel like it's too early and want to go back to bed..
