Our buses service an area that goes 21 miles out to the end of the paved road, out to the end of the US highway system, 20 miles out to the end of the road in the mountains, and about 30 miles up the highway toward civilization. Not a small coverage area.
Today, I heard something on the radio that amused me:
Dispatch: One-four, base. One-Four: One-four. Dispatch: What's your location. One-Four: I'm at the traffic light. Dispacth: Ten-Four, that's all I needed.

LMAO @ that......... signal only has one red light and I asked the cop where the fire was burning on the mountain and he said it was up by "the traffic light".
..........20 minutes later I figured out there was only one.

I lived in Goochland county VA for 7 long years. The county had 1 traffic light when I moved there. When I moved from the county there were 2 down from 4. 2 had been installed on a temporary base when a bridge was being replced.

We're thinking of installing a second one. We need it during tourist season.

Oh, you have no idea...
I live in the middle of the city, and I have to turn off the paved road.
You can tell it's breakup when you see cars stuck up to their axles in mud and they're on a maintained road in town.
