www.timesfreepress.com/absolutenm/templates/blog-3.aspx?articleid=13672&zoneid=13The Chattanooga City Council's Legal and Legislative Committee had a full agenda today with proposed ordinances on panhandling, building permits and police department donations. But it was a debate on kids playing basketball on city streets that drew the most animated discussion... "I'm getting all kinds of complaints about it," said Councilwoman Marti Rutherford... "Kids are playing in the street, and I've had someone tell me they're afraid to back out of their driveway because they might run one of them over." ...But Councilman Leamon Pierce agreed with Ms. Rutherford that more needs to be done. "It's a problem," he said. "They're interfering with traffic, and we're talking about a safety factor. I see them when I'm driving, and I have to slow down." "So don't slow down," Councilman Manny Rico responded. * * * So don't slow down. In other words, run the kids over. How long before Robin Flores sues Rico because Rico is encouraging an illegal activity?

Right Gary where is the media and another question is where are we? We should be the ones causing the sink.

Our role in this town is to find the stories and chat about them amongst ourselves until one of the mainstream outlets picks up on it.
What we are also good at is isolating comments in mainstream stories (like this one from the TFP) that often slip past their eyes.

If Jammer were still on the air, this would have been shouted from the rooftops.
He was a 100% assshole, but I still miss his drunken ass on the radio.

There's no media outrage because anyone that would call 'bullshit' on it would be labeled a racist.
