What will you be listening to this summer? Are there songs that make you scream SUMMER when they come on the radio on a sunshiney day (Panama does for me)? If you were making a summer playlist, what would be on it?
I would put most of Vampire Weekend's album on mine. And Gnarls Barkley "Crazy." And Pains of Being Pure at Heart and "Saints" by the Breeders, maybe before anything else.

That new Grizzly Bear's really good. Poison and Meat Loaf remind me of driving around as a teenager. But I don't want them on this year's soundtrack.

The Antler's song "Bear" is the opposite of a good summer song. Very depressed now.

I'm old. I don't know any of these bands (well, I've heard of Gnarls Barkley but never listed to it), except Poison and Meat Loaf. When did I get old? Why did I let it happen?

It's not too late, Worm, but I get the impression that you're happy with your music library.

I have more than I can listen to now, that's for sure. Somehow buying CD's isn't a priority like it used to be (or albums, since my collection started with 45's and LP's), and I refuse to give Apple any money for DRM restricted music. Two thirds of what I hear on the radio sucks, so I can't stand listening to that long enough to catch the few gems that must be out there somewhere. The filesharing apps are too likely to get the RIAA busting down your door nowadays, so that's out. There's not much left that I'm willing to do to catch any new music.

If I were you, I guess I would try to read interviews of people I liked and see if they recommended anybody.
