I liked Tuna Surprise #47. Considering the source it wasn't nearly as much a surprise as I was expecting.

The One-Armed Former Forum Host will post on this later.
Vicodin and only one functioning shoulder has made the past several days... interesting.

Gary was attacked by a 10 yr old girl. and lost...
I was planning on bring ing Moe.. he just loves to get out!! but I have a meeting that morning.. so logistics might be tricky.. I feel a bit bad too in that Moe now has a sister named Donna.. and she would have to stay at home because she is not nearly as laid back as the big Moe... Still may be able to work things out... but I will certainly be there!

Thanks for your vote of confidence, Gridbug. In fact, because you insisted (?) and because Koi Delight #2 exploded causing only minor damage to the garage, I will indeed bring another batch of TS#47.

A succinct description of my weekend.
Who knew swimming pools could be so dangerous?

We need a sign like the one in Preservation Hall in New Orleans:
"Hamburger or Hot Dog, $3.00 Chicken $5.00 All of the above with the story of Gary's injury, $10.00"

Basic story: while swimming, a 10 year old decided it would be a good idea to run up and jump on my neck from behind. The result was a hyper-extended shoulder. As for the picnic itself, Shot and I spoke at length last night and things are coming along well. Here are the basic reminders: - Bring chairs
- Bring your own drinks
- Bring a side dish (chips, salads, whatever)
- If you have a folding table, bring that, too
- Bring anything else you think would be helpful
- Bring a small donation for the cook ($3 is perfect)
- Be ready to have fun

I'm hoping to bring a surprise. Is there a water hydrant or sink on the property?

Paul Barys just announced a 10% chance of precipitation on Saturday. I disagree. I firmly believe it will be only a 7.76% chance.
If you don't mind my rounding off a bit.

UPDATE:
*It is but Friday Morning, and already I have let loose the Last of the Titans on this little Scheme of mine.
See you @ 2pm, Kordax...and thanks again, Mr. Events.
"Once more, we play our dangerous game, a game of chess against our old adversaries - Sobriety & Common Sense. Here's to 'Shot!Fest 2009."
Synopsis:
Driving directions are posted above and in DETAIL on the Pangap.Org site. I will try to leave distinguishers at the FEW turns you have (right @ exit 175 / Browns Ferry, Left up Elder Mountain past the Sunset Market TINY-ass convenience store), past a 'traffic circle' then Right on Pan Gap Rd, and it dead ends at "the Gate". TomTom/Garmin Folks: 760 Pan Gap Rd, Chattanooga, TN.
The ground is Level, parking is -right there-, and it's 90% ADA accessible (probably not the rough path to the range area), but remember...it's a Primitive non-state maintained park area.
12'ish: Accepting Boarders. Pass through the gates, bear right, park a reasonable distance and staggered/angled into the woodline along the roads, leaving enough room for traffic and larger (emergency?) vehicles.
1'ish: Food begins begins served over the next hour or two...no rush.
3'ish: Firing Range Opens. Be prepared for a walk (5min). It's drivable in a 4D Crown Vic, but there is only so much space to Park.
There forward? The Day is Ours, Shade is Plentiful, the lake/pond is spring fed, Groceries & beer are two miles up the road (Liquor more like 4-5) and the Private Fenced In Park Area Is Ours.
Kids, Dogs, non-bender amounts of booze are welcome. Updates will be fewer as I go do my little Kooky Dance of Preparation.

Le masterpiece is fini! It’s the 2009 edition of Tuna Surprise #47. I worked all afternoon on this batch – from 5:30 to 5:36 or so.
As with any bit of modern technology, a little instruction may be in order.
First, it would be wise to keep open flames at least six feet away. Just a thought. The fumes appear to be harmless. According to the RBFD.
About the things that look a lot like Ramen Noodles – the preservative*1 should have them under control by the time TS#47 arrives at Shotfest4. On the outside chance that the noodles**2 are still moving when you pass by the table with TS#47, let me know, and then come back after additional preservative has had a chance to work and the flames have died down. Alternatively, use some kind of greasy crackers or chips with TS#47 because the grease usually clogs up the noodles’ innards and slows down their migratory progress enough that it becomes unnecessary to chase them with a fork or other implement of destruction.
Lest you have inordinate concerns***3 about TS#47, bear in mind that Bob has had it more than once and has mostly survived and thinks TS#47 is actually pretty darned good****4 and *****5.
Now. About the lumps. The ones I know about are harmless at least 82% of the time******6. The ones I don’t know about happened after I will have delivered my culinary delight to Shotfest4 and I take no responsibility for those. A word of caution: the brown lumps are totally OK, but you might want to set the green lumps aside if they have started developing the fuzzy stuff or the gray goo. The white lumps are the best part of TS#47*******7 especially if the egg beaters cut them in half (“decapitate” if you prefer).
Last instructions – be sure to consume TS#47 on-site because it tends to corrode most containers rapidly and usually requires hazmat teams (or road paving equipment) to clean up if you spill it and are caught. Also, keep an eye on Gridbug. He’s promised to try some more this year, so as long as he’s still standing or sitting (and breathing), you know you’re good to go.********8
Second helpings are encouraged. (Help me out here. Read the first part of the previous paragraph.)
Did I mention I'm on a zero calorie diet tomorrow? Until somebody goes first, that is.
*1 “Preservative” – yeah, that’s the ticket. Preservative. **2 Noodles – allow me some poetic license, please. ***3 and anyone with a particle of a brain should. ****4 Examine closely the leakage around Bob’s axles. Years of bearing protection from just one application! (TeflonTM bearings required.) *****5 unless he’s lying to me again. ******6 The remaining 18% of the time is limited to nausea, rashes, diarrhea, ED, blurred vision, night terrors, palpitations, insomnia, dylsexia, delirium tremors, premature hair loss, and cooties. *******7 Don’t ask, don’t tell. ********8 and go and go. T.P. not supplied. Bring your own. Lots of your own. Triple rolls are good.

Stychen and I got home from Daytona a couple of hours ago. I was planning to go straight to the kitchen and start making my Black Bean Salsa but we left our 20 year old son, Nicco, house-sitting for us. Yes, exactly what you think happened did happen at my house while we were gone. He thought we would be back tomorrow. The kitchen was in no shape to do any thing in regarding the preparation of food. I'm now on the couch cracking a whip at him.
We will show up but our side will most likely be from a grocery store deli.

Felix made Texas Caviar (a black eye pea salad). Our chair are ready to be loaded, and I've got chips and pretzels and plastic cups. I made sure we had 6 dollars cash. The Night Before Christmas poem keeps running through my head. I'm sure one of you could do a clever take on it..Twas the night before ShotFest and all through the posts, not a creature was stirring, not even the hosts.. Our cars were all loaded with "Stuff" with great care, for in almost 12 hours, we would be there.
Someone take it from here!

I shall make it to Shotfest 4! As far as what I'm bringing, it'll probably be something store-bought. Anything I cook would probably be more toxic than "Tuna Surprise #47." heheh
