Why is it that I haven't seen any motorcycle/scooter parking around town? I see a lot more motorcycle use around Chattanooga but I haven't seen any parking for motorcycles.
You have those spots around town that if a car parks there it can block the view but motorcycles wouldn't so why wouldn't the city make these spots for motorcycles so they don't take up spots that other cars could use?
One other question that I can't seem to figure out is how many motorcycles can legally park in one spot on the street? I've seen 3 or 4 parked in one spot but it's usually after 4:30pm so parking is free but what about during times where you have to feed the meter or down at Coolidge Park? Is the spot paid for or is the payment for 1 vehicle no matter the size?

I quit patronizing Northgate Mall @ 5 years ago when the mall police gave me a ticket for parking my bike within some yellow lines near the mall entrance but within the parking lot -- not the fire lanes ....

There are literally THOUSaNDS of motorcycle parking spaces down town. Meters for them everywhere. Why would a motorcyclist expect special parking?

Because, unlike automobiles, it's easy to get more than one bike in a space.
The question is, is it legal to do so or should the bike owners expect to get some kind of parking ticket if they double up with another biker.
I like the idea of multiple bikes in one space because it leaves that much more parking space for four-wheelers.

I wouldn't expect special parking but if it's illegal to double up in one normal spot why not have smaller motorcycle parking spots with each meter. What I'm really wondering is if it is illegal to double, triple or quadruple up in a spot at a meter if say me and 3 other friends decided to visit downtown when the meters were active.

I park mine pretty much anywhere I want.
Haven't got the first ticket, either.

Well what sparked this question was I saw a couple of motorcycles parked in a spot with a car. They were still within the lines and there was time on the meter and they had tickets. Looked like the doubled up in a spot with a buddy's car because I wouldn't get as close as they did if I didn't know the driver of the car for fear that my bike would be on it's side when I came out.

Saldo, it is not beyond the realm of possibility that the rules for getting a parking ticket could be arbitrary in Chattanooga. I'm not saying they are but I've had folks in authority pull rules (not laws, rules) out of their a..., uh, hat before.
