I understand that if a police officer wants to drive his car home, he has to pay $50 a month. If he has a part time job and drives his car, the charge will be $75 a month. To put it politely, this is animal poop. If a Chattanooga or Hamilton County police officer drives his vehicle to the WalMart or Petsmart, don't you think that just his presence might prevent a crime? Let's stop giving free medical care, and housing to those that have never worked and start supporting our men in blue. Yep, I am for supporting our police officers. They deserve every friendly wave and hello they can get.

I agree. As a citizen who lives on a street where crime has been increasing, I would be delighted to see a police officer live on my street AND have his or her car parked in the driveway during off duty hours. This would actually deter crime in my opinion.

Yes, it does. I don't live in a high crime area, but I have city and county cars. I look every morning for one and every night for the other to be sure they are home safe and sound.

Thank you for the support!
(Has anyone contacted the VW folks to let them know that the adequate policeprotection they were promised in their sweet package deal DOES NOT EXIST...and won't for AT LEAST two years?)

I am one person that has tremendous respect and gives full support to our police officers. The only pigs I know are down on the farm. Seriously, you men and women deserve our respect.
