That has happened to me twice, luckily I caught both transactions while still in the stores.

It happened to me with a check once, about 15 years ago. Was charged $900 something instead of $90 something. I was told the same thing by the bank. Contacted a lawyer, and they were right.
So, I switched to SunTrust. Same thing happened, only thing is, they said, "We'll take care of it all".

Suntrust is good about helping when this happens. A few years back someone used my debit card number and charged over $1,300 worth of crap. I notified Suntrust and they immediately deposited the same questioned amount back into my account while they conducted their investigation. I was informed that if they found that I had made any of the questioned charges, I would have my account debited for that amount. They found all of them not legitimate and prosecuted the ones who used my card number.

I use an ATM card to get money out of the bank and a credit card to buy things. I think it's much safer that way.. Less worries!

I like using credit cards. It helps me keep track of what I spend and I get points for buying stuff. As long as I pay it off at the end of the month, I don't have to pay any interest either.
