For those of you that remember, a few months ago I went on a quest to get my CDL and get a new (and better) job driving a truck. Well, that day has finally arrived!! I finished with my last test today and will be going to the DMV tomorrow to get the official CDL on my license. I will be leaving this weekend to go to Knoxville for orientation with Colonial Freight Systems, the company that I will be driving for, at least for the next few years (I plan on going into their lease program after my training so I can make almost twice the money that company driver's make). So I will be gone from Sunday through at least Thursday, and then probably won't be back until the first weekend of June (Bloodhound's birthday, which he will tell more about as the date draws nigh) and then probably won't be back for more than a day or two for a while. The best way to make money in this business is to keep those wheels rolling, and I plan on doing exactly that, at least for the next five years or so. Then Samara and I will see where we're at and go from there.
Wish me luck, y'all!!

I still think you should drive up here.
You can be a long haul trucker and never leave the state.
Me? I'm trying to get a job driving up and down the Al-Can. A lot of hours quite regularly.
However, driving a fish truck pays $27.50 per hour, with a mandatory 72 hours per week during the season.

Congrats Thorne! We'll have to get you an 8-track player and a C.W. McCall tape. Oh, and off-topic, but I had to reply to this: > Edited to say: "I see that my title has changed. Fuck you guys."But you looked so cute in your tiny little kitchen whites.

That's about what I hope to be making, so figure that for the next few years instead of seasons.
