I am amazed at the prices of TVs. I do not need or want a 52" screen. I do not need or want a flat screen. The idea of the quality of the picture has taken over the quality of what being seen. Let us see quality shows, the hell with the quality of the picture.

Yes. I have no interest in watching a bunch of 20somethings get terrorized, eat nasty stuff, or get stuck out in a remote area where they have to vote for who "survives" or has to go home. I could deal with watching some dance competition, but I really don't give a rat about a bunch of folks running around in nurses scrubs acting like jackasses for a cheap laugh.
If there's a new show out there worth watching, someone clue me in cuz I've given up (and if it's good, I'm sure I can get the first season via netflicks).

As far as I'm concerned there are no good shows or movies. If its R rated, I don't watch. I think Kelsy Grammer is staring in a new show. That might be good. I want to be entertained, not scared, disgusted, or embarrassed. The Animal Planet has even gone too far.

We differ. That's one of the few shows I do like, but much of it has to do with the beautiful photography of exotic places and critters as well as the music. I love the music.

I watch Masterpiece Mystery on Sunday night on PBS. On Monday night I watch Castle on ABC at 10. That's it, except for some football and the baseball playoffs.

Every once in awhile Discovery will have something good. NatGeo also has some good stuff. I like Dirty Jobs, Mike Rowe is hysterical.

Chop, Cut, Rebuild is usually fairly interesting. Alton Brown starts his new season of Good Eats this week. Oh, and "Kit, an Auto Body Experience" is doing a great job of documenting the conversion of a Porsche Boxter into a Porsche GT.

We have backward Charter for our cable, so we don't get that. Every once in awhile the Cartoon channel will have some good oldies.

LOL If you don't tolerate foul language don't watch Deadwood you will hear fuck and cocksucker at least 50 times each during each episode

I used to like Survivorman but it is no longer in production. Les Stroud is much of a man to to all the stuff he does ALONE.
If you ever get the opportunity to watch on PBS Alone in the Wilderness watch it. It's a great story about Dick Proenneke, a 50 year old man goes to Alaska to spend 1 year in a cabin he built using only hand tools. He ended up spending 35 years in this cabin. He filmed himself and the movie Alone in the Wilderness is the result of his videos.

That really sounds great. I'll keep my eyes open. Did you ever watch the documentary about the man with the grizzlies? He was just a little stupid.

This is the most revolting thing I have ever seen posted on the internet as a whole.
Ever.

Me too.. I wonder how it's doing in ratings. I'd hate for ABC to cancel it before we find out what's going on... ABC has been bad about canceling good shows lately.

Just watched a NatGeo special on tattoos. That was sickening. I can't believe people would do that. I can't believe its not against the law. Shouldn't it be against the law for someone to permanently disfigure someone else?

Shouldn't it be against the law to tell me what on my body I can pay someone to disfigure?

I like Monk, House, and The Mentalist. Criminal Minds is good. Lie To Me is pretty good, too.

Warkitty, did you see the show?? When someone takes a burning tool and spends THREE HOURS burning. BURNING. To leave scars that will last a life time, even if you change your mind, and no amount of plastic surgery can reverse - shouldn't that be against the law. To permanently disfigure, scar, maim. That is carrying things just a little bit tooooooooo far.

That falls into an area I like to call PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY
Thats why before any of that is ever done to a body there is a form signed saying your allowing this person to do the "work" by their own free will and will not hold that person liable.

OK, as a statement and with your permission, I will chop your middle finger off. Nothing wrong with that, done with your permission.

Doctor's do stuff like that all the time.

They are licensed and insured. It is also against the law for them to it electively, it must be medically. There is a difference. Try going into a doctor's office and asking that he/she remove your middle finger because you think it will improve your looks. You will get medical attention, but in a mental hospital.
