I could/couldn't care less

Which is the correct one to say? I couldn't care less, is the one I use. I've seen, I could care less, but too me that doesn't make sense.

Generally speaking, ignurnt people say, "I could care less" while most intelligentsia more correctly and logically say, "I couldn't care less."

What's the point of even mentioning that you could care less? I mean we could all care less. It's only worth mentioning when you finally get to the point where you couldn't care less. Every time somebody either says or posts that they could care less. I always reply "How much less could you care"?
