For over 10 years I've been using cnn.com for quickie, at-a-glance news updates -- just the basics.
Lately, cnn.com's website has been redesigned and there's SO much clutter I'm starting to avoid it. If I wanted TV, I'd go watch the tube.
I just need quick, accurate headline summaries, all on the same page, easy to spot, preferably nothing moving, blinking, or advertising anything that I have to move out of the way or wait for prior to getting the news. Preferably, customizable or otherwise, to put US news first, before Pakistan or Iraq.
Preferably not obviously slanted. I know that's a lot to ask, but I mean, where somebody can't take one look and say "Well, that's an interesting version of reality."
Anybody have suggestions?
Thanks.

news.google.com works for me. You can even personalize it a bit to show things that you are watching.

I use www.ajc.com to get my news but I know that's probably too regional for most good site though
