Oprah Winfrey to End Her Television Show in Sept. 2011

She'll say why tomorrow.

But it's reported she will concentrate exclusively on her forthcoming cable channel, OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network.

The channel is a joint venture between her production company and Discovery Communications. Getting the channel off the ground has proved challenging: OWN was originally expected to begin in late 2009 or early 2010, but management turnover and an uncertain advertising climate have caused delays. Discovery has not specified a premiere date for the network, which is intended to replace the Discovery Health Channel in more than 70 million households.

For the love of money is the root of all evil. I hope to all things holy I get the NFL network on my cable before they put her on. Sports are the most important things on TV.

I've watched Oprah for so long that I can barely remember watching Donahue... But lately, I find myself switching over to watch re-runs of AFV more and more often. Let's face it, after all these years, she's been there, done that. Her staff has flat run out of interesting topics for her to talk about. The endless parade of celebrity interviews have become so damned boring. I can't stomach another make over show. All those product give away's turn her show into an hour long commercial for things I can't afford. The most interesting 'real person' she's interviewed lately was the woman who got her face ripped off by a Chimp.

Yes, Oprah, you used to do great TV... but there's nothing left to do that new. It's all kind of dull now. So long and thanks for all the fish.

She's been on the cover of more magazines than anyone in the world. Of course, she bought the magazine and renamed it after herself, so of course she's on the cover a lot.

I have respect for her business acumen. I have little respect for her as a person, and would rather watch Tyra Banks any day (and I can't stand her either, BTW).
