I actually exploded a human head in the microwave.
But, I cleaned it up.

Currently, the Micro is clean, the kitchen floor looks like a head exploded on it.

My kitchen is perfectly spotless.
The rest of the house... not so much.

I had a house pest who used mine, and didn't clean it up.
I rarely use the thing. I might try to let it run all night and see if it cleans its self

Scrape the stuff off once a month, add seasoning to taste.
makes a great broth.

I look pretty young, but I'm just back-dated.

We've had it since January; so far it is pristine.
Not for lack of trying on my part, but Mr. Clean foils me on a daily basis.

The trick to cleaning a microwave is simple.
Take a standard size coffee cup and fill it with water, place it in the microwave and bring it to a full boil for about a minute (a bit longer if larger "globs" are present). (*note: for most microwaves it takes about 3 minutes to begin the boil)
Open the microwave and remove the cup (use an oven mit as it will be HOT) then quickly take a warm damp cloth and wipe the interior surfaces of the oven.
You'd be surprised how well this works.

Yep. Or you can just zap your damp cleaning sponge in there. It will super heat the sponge, so you don't want to use THAT one to wipe out the insides... but it will soften up any cooked on splatters AND kill any funky germs growing in the sponge at the same time.

Only problem is that most cleaning sponges these days are made of synthetic materials that can cause some nasty chemicals to release when subjected to such conditions.
Not sure you'd want to eat anything coming out of the oven after that.
Of course its all dependent on your tolerance levels for "funky chemicals"

Technically, my 'cleaning sponge' is an old fashioned cotton/terry rag, so I hadn't thought of that. And I remove the hot one from the micro with a fork. But anything is better than using the oven after someone else sprayed it full of Clorox Clean up. That was seriously nasty!

Not too many people refer to "rags" as "sponges" outside of some surgical theaters anymore.

" Claim: Water boiled in a microwave oven can suddenly "explode."Answer: True "If you're worried about explosions over superheated liquid, you can virtually eliminate the possibility of its happening to you by simply leaving some non-metallic object (such as a wooden spoon or stir stick) in the cup or bowl when you boil liquids in your microwave. It may not be necessary, but it won't hurt anything either. Peace of mind rarely comes so cheaply." www.snopes.com/science/microwave.asp

I've found that almost anything can "explode" in the microwave.
