There's lots of room for tree huggers in Dutch Harbor. There's a pretty Eskimo girl behind every tree.

The first time I heard that, my sister-in-law was talking to her son. No one else in the room. Poor me, I had only been South of the Mason Dixon line for 48 hours. She really scared me. Shaking her finger in the kid's face, saying don't y'all do that. I was wondering what ghost she was seeing. That's weird. I've was born in and have lived in the south my entire life (not mentioning age ) and I've never heard y'all used to address a person in the singular status. If you say y'all to one person such as "How y'all doing?" or "Y'all are doing a great job", it means how is your entire family or the entire organization/whatever is doing a great job, not just the one person to whom you are talking. Welcome to the Chattanooga area, caryc.

I used to say as a generic greeting when dealing with customer(s). "Y'all have a good'un".
Didn't matter much to me if I was talking to one person,or three as it was just part of my routine

Hey, I'm a Damn Yankee. Jackass is a compliment. I have had more than 100 people tell me I wasn't wanted, including a saleslady in Millers. So, get over it.
When a Damn Yankee doesn't like you, they walk away. You aren't worth my time.

Caryc, we just found a new waterfall to hike a few weeks ago. The leaves were changing colors and it was gorgeous. We have a book about local hikes and waterfalls. I will try to send you some info on some of the better ones that we have seen.

I was waiting for the model to show up just bumming around the riverfront and talked to a couple that were contemplating moving to Chattanooga. Nice folks. They wanted directions to T-Bones.

The ability to be able to use those three words in the same sentence is a symptom of having been in Alaska too long. Way too long.

'rst',that's what I thought...I moved from Tullahoma to NJ when I was a kid, loved seeing the Phillies,76'ers,the big city et al.But the 'people',culture shock! I was 7 when I asked the subway token 'clerk':"How much for a token?!",she ripped into me! I only lived there for 3 years then came back,to South Carolina. (Thanks for letting me share this...heh heh)

Faker lied about liking nancy pelosi, probably lied about living in Austin, moving to Chattanooga, and having a girlfriend. I smell a rat and the wind is blowing straight down.

Why would I lie about any of the above?I mean really?! I do love Nancy Pelosi, one of the few to stand up to Cheney's regime from the 'get-go'! I do have a fine woman/GF...I do live near Austin & I am moving to Chattanooga. I just hope I don't run in to your warped self.I smell a bitter monkey. While you're not worth replying to,I will stand up for myself.

It's OK to say that about Mikey, but don't ever say it about Soetero. You'll be a racist then.

Those ones = Thoseuns
Young ones = Younguns
You ones = Youuns
Simple.
Y'all - Singular (a single group) Y'all's - Singular Possessive (belonging to a single group) Y'all's' - Plural Possessive (belonging to multiple groups)

I watched Alaska State Troopers. That's a damn lie those chicks are butt ugly. No wonder the sucide rate and alcohlism rate is the highest in the free world.
